AN September 2025

£6.99

This is the beginning of a new chapter in the storied history of Astronomy Now magazine. After 30-plus years with Pole Star Publications, the magazine is now owned by Nebula Press. Inside the magazine, you can meet the new team (you’re going to see a lot of familiar faces!) that will be bringing you the wonders of the Universe every month.

The September 2025 issue of Astronomy Now features an in-depth look at the mysterious comet 3I/ATLAS, which is currently racing towards the inner planets, having come from a completely different Solar System altogether; a special news report brings you the biggest stories from the Royal Astronomical Society’s National Astronomy Meeting, and we have features on mapping the worlds of the Solar System and the history of Herstmonceux – the observatory that moved to castle.

Plus we have all your favourite regulars, spectacular images of the night sky, a review of the Novastar Emperor telescope, and a number of new columns such as the return of the book reviews and your letters and social media comments.

Let’s explore the Universe together!

Astronomy Now Yearbook: The Stargazer's Guide 2026

The Astronomy Now Yearbook: Stargazer's Guide 2026 is packed with everything you need to find your way around the northern hemisphere's night sky in the year ahead. Whether you are a complete beginner or someone who has been doing this your whole life, the Stargazer's Guide 2026 will be your constant companion with its month-by-month star charts and observation tips. The yearbook also features special articles looking at the best way to start stargazing, and everything you need to know about 'smartscopes' – the affordable telescopes that are revolutionising astronomy for everyone because they require no prior knowledge to use them.

Thank you all for the overwhelming demand for this year's Stargazer's Yearbook. Despite printing the same quantity as last year, they have flown off our office shelves and stock is now almost in single figures. The Yearbook is still available in newsagents (but hurry!) and if we are finally out of stock on this site, it might remain available online here.

Next year, please order early and we'll print more!
